Frost-beater hat – knitting pattern for easy cabled hat

When the frosty weather suddenly arrives you need an extra warm hat to protext you from the cold. This hat will keep you warm when the winter weather is at its worst.

Made in chunky yarn this hat knits up very quickly and will be toasty warm during the worst of the cold.

See the matching mittens here.

The hat is knitted entirely in the round with a simple-to-work cable pattern that is both written and charted. You can use dpns throughout, or if you prefer, use a 5.5mm circular needle, 40cm/16” long for the brim and a 6.0mm circular needle of the same length for the main body of the hat, switching to 6mm dpns when there are too few stitches for your circular.
